Hi Folks,
I have decided to resend RR no 1. The original one
had mistakes in it regarding some VOR frequencies.
I am receiving so much mail about it, that this is
necessary (or I'll have to quit my day job).....
Please trash the original copy and add this one to
your collection.
RR1....
HI Flight Simmers,
Welcome to something new on the Flight-Sim mail and digest.
I have had an idea for a while regarding flying a preset course
each month or there about. After discussing this with Mark
Strawcutter, we agreed to give it a try. The whole intent is
to fly in a certain corner of the World, ( that otherwise, we would
probably never try), refresh our Geography, practice our cross
country navigation and have some fun.
Give it a few months, and you will have landed
in all parts of the world.
The scenario goes like this:
Every 3 weeks or so, I will publish a course from some part of
the world for MS Flight-Simmers to: fly, look at the scenery, do some
approaches at different airports and at the same time improve our
geography. It will be called a ROUND ROBIN.
In the message you will be getting info like: airport departure and
runway number, VOR's and ADF's en route, a middle airport desti-
nation for a VFR or instrument approach, a final destination for VFR
or INST approach along with ILS freq, minimums etc...
I will also include interesting sights and scenerey en route and a
direct path back to the departure airport for those who wish to complete
the full circle (round robin).
You will also get info on the scenery needed to complete the flight and
where to get it (at the ftp.iup.edu, where else?). Also, who created the
scenery (for non-commercial) and a little background on the geography
of the area.
I will start the first one with Alfred Gretch's Ontario Canada and
follow it in 3 weeks time with another corner of the Flight Sim world.
Please read the route a few times before starting out, to have
your Flight Plan fresh in your mind.

other end of the RWY.

Over Toronto you will see 4 airports.

You will also have the CN tower visible to your left

ONSBGL version 4.
On the way to Hamilton, the lake is still on your left.
On the way to Sarnia, you cross over the southern end of
Ontario towards lake Huron.
If you decide to do a little sight seing near Hamilton, go east
south east, and follow the coast down and it will take you to
Niagara River and Falls.
After Alfred Grech uploads his new ONTARIO4. BGL (soon)
you will be passing near the CN tower in Toronto.
(IT IS NOW RELEASED, look for ONSBGL4a.zip at the
site).
.....Thank you to Alfred for the awesome scenery he
has provided us with.
..... Thank you to Chris Squire for test flying the route.
Remember that this is new, and it will take a while to fine tune it.
If anyone would like to suggest a route, or anything else EMAIL
ME : apeltier@mars.ark.com
It should keep you busy for an hour or two.
Have fun.
